Graduate Schools

Hey guys, I am getting ready to finish my last semester of my undergraduate studies in Marine Biology at Texas A&M Galveston and I have been looking into graduate school for a while now. The ones I am applying to are NOVA Southeastern University, Texas A&M Corpus Christi, University of Houston-Clear Lake and University of South Alabama. I am wondering if anyone is attending these schools for their master's/PhD's and are willing to give me any insight into the programs (ie., Are the profs approachable and willing to work with you?, Do believe the program as a whole is good?, etc.) I want to study coral reef ecology and/or coral bleaching if that helps any (I guess coral reef monitoring is the best way to describe my interests, right?). I also have identified a couple of faculty members I am interested in working with, plan on taking the GRE in early August for Spring 2011 admission, and so far have two people lined up to write me a letter of recommendation. I have some lab experience (research class and research symposium project for this class) and may have more by the end of this summer with a lab job if things work right for me. The only thing I find that might hinder me is my GPA. I did poorly the first semester I transferred here due to Hurricane Ike and haven't seemed to be able to catch up. My grades, for the most part, have been improving though. Thanks! :starfish:
