I have questions foe experts regarding a project for school.
Im in a marine bio. class and part of our project is an interview with an EXPERT on the issues below. so if any EXPERTS can answer these questions, it would be gratefully appreciated!
Why is overfishing such a problem?
How long ago did overfishing start?
What will happen if we dont stop?
How has over fishing effected our oceans?
What are serious effects of over fishing?
Is over fishing the biggest threat to fish? If not, what is?
How is over fishing preventable or controllable?
What is the most popular form of pollution found in oceans?
How does pollution threaten the animals that inhabit the oceans?
How is pollution controlled or how can we prevent polluting?
What mainly effects the biodiversity of the oceans?
How do we protect the biodiversity of our oceans?
What can the general public do to help with the issues of over fishing, pollution and threats to bio diversity?
If you wouldent mind stateing your name and possible email adress, we need contanct info. for our project

Welcome!
Have you seen http://marinebio.org/Oceans/Conservatio ... heries.asp and http://marinebio.org/Oceans/ocean-dumping.asp and http://marinebio.org/Oceans/Conservatio ... arming.asp and http://marinebio.org/Oceans/Conservatio ... ersity.asp? I'd start there. Your marine biology textbook doesn't address the above?
Again, welcome and I hope that's helped.

"Extending a sea ethic would mean recognizing the ocean’s importance to the continued existence of life on our planet and to human futures. From this recognition would flow an appropriate sense of moral imperative, commitment, and urgency—urgency toward ending overfishing and wasteful bycatch and aggressively rebuilding depleted ocean wildlife populations, stabilizing human effects on world climate, slowing habitat destruction, stemming global transport and accidental introduction of "alien" species, curbing the flow of contaminants and trash, developing sustainable seafood farming, cultivating an informed approach to the seafood marketplace, and implementing networks of protected areas in the sea." - Dr. Carl Safina
